Simple filter and (limited) static/lightning protection?

This antenna/AC stuff is still quite magical to me.

I’ve read that a 1/4 wavelength piece of coax shorted at one end and ‘T-ed’ into the antenna cable will allow (nearly) all but the tuned wavelength flow out the shorted tip if grounded, leaving the tuned frequency unaffected and able to go to the receiver.

This is the mock up of my thinking. From antenna into one side of a splitter, then carry on out other side to receiver. Attached 1/4 wavelength tuned piece to the splitter’s input. Short the end and attach to a ground cable.

Yes? No?
