I bought a PiAware setup that was previously used by user “kanxrus”
I want to set it up and register with my username so I can control it, but I cannot “claim” it. It will not be discovered as a new receiver.
I have re-formatted and re-installed the operating system on the SD card but it still shows up as kanxrus.
How can I release it so that I can reclaim it?

I think you need contact support flightware for that, no matter what you do on your side because flightware recognize the equipment by the Mac address as still Mac address remains on flightware database for flightware it’s not a new equipment.

To get FA to reassign it, you’ll need to get the old owner to confirm it’s been given to you.
The alternative would be to spoof a new MAC address.
