Hi All
I ran the pipeline for Nexrad images, and let it run for 25 mins or so…I then entered the command for lotting nexrad images, with this result:
todd@todd-VirtualBox:~/dump978$ ./plot_nexrad.py <nexrad.txt
CONUS 16:15 dimensions 1152 676 layers 1
Regional 16:50 dimensions 447 406 layers 1
Regional 17:00 dimensions 447 406 layers 1
Regional 16:35 dimensions 447 449 layers 1
Regional 16:20 dimensions 447 449 layers 1
Regional 16:30 dimensions 447 449 layers 1
Regional 16:25 dimensions 447 449 layers 1
CONUS 17:00 dimensions 1152 676 layers 1
Regional 16:10 dimensions 447 449 layers 1
CONUS 16:45 dimensions 1152 676 layers 1
Regional 16:15 dimensions 447 449 layers 1
Regional 16:45 dimensions 447 406 layers 1
Regional 16:55 dimensions 447 406 layers 1
Regional 16:40 dimensions 447 406 layers 1
CONUS 16:30 dimensions 1152 676 layers 1
A dumb question…where can I actually see Nexrad images, not just text
Thanks as always
Todd
It should have created .jpg files in the directory that you ran the script in.

Aha…I see the png files now
Thx
Todd
Nice…
The CONUS images were fine…the Regional ones had no images…any explanation?
Todd
There is no rain in your area?
LitterBug
How is this accomplished? What software is being used?
You need to be using dump978, extract_nexrad, and plot_nexrad.py.

Pretty cool. Here’s what came out when I ran it:

Are the missing patches caused by lost messages? I am pretty far from the uplink site and don’t normally receive their transmissions, so I figure some could have been dropped.

Yeah, the radar images are spread over many uplink messages (with some retransmissions maybe?), so if you’re not receiving most of them then it will be patchy.

Thanks for the reply (and for providing all the programs in the first place  )
