dump1090-mutability v1.15~devCaught SIGTERM, shutting down..

This just happened in the middle of the night. dump1090-mutability v1.15~dev was down for about 5 hours. When I got up this morning, I rebooted and things came back online.

I’ve been running 1.15 for a while now and haven’t seen this before.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

rtlsdr_demod_write_reg failed with -1
r82xx_write: i2c wr failed=-9 reg=06 len=1

Probably piaware deciding to restart it because it has seen no traffic for a while. Then one of the restarts failed due to a failure in librtlsdr.

Normally, ADS-B traffic is very light here between 3AM and 5AM (-4 GMT). After that there always at least a few planes in the my area.

Not going to lose sleep over it.

Just the first time I’ve seen this happen since I joined in April.

Perhaps I should set a crontab to reboot at say 5am or 6am?

I’d suggest checking the piaware logs to see what it says, but if you’ve rebooted then they’re probably gone.

The SIGTERM message is telling you that something external to dump1090 killed it off. (I added that message after one too many reports of “dump1090 died mysteriously, why?”)
