Dump1090-fa 3.3.0 available!

https://github.com/flightaware/dump1090/tree/v3.3.0

That is a development version that has been available for a while. I run it on my RPIs.

It may be tagged but that doesn’t mean it’s released quite yet. Still being tested.

PiAware 3.3.0 now up and running.

But what has changed in 3.3.0?

It looks exactly the same as the previous version?

You could look at the changelog (piaware, dump1090) or list of commits (piaware, dump1090) or wait for the actual release post.

Hazard of open development: you see things as they happen, and if you want to make use of them as they happen rather than waiting for “official” release points then you get to work out this stuff yourself.

So is 3.3 officially released? I just ran apt-get update/apt-get dist-upgade and to my surprise got 3.3 installed.

The code is done but the documentation is still being sorted out.

That cartoon is wrong. It is.

The job isn’t done until the paperwork is finished.

Where to change gain in 3.3.0 version?

pi@piaware:~$ sudo piaware-config rtlsdr-gain 42.1
rtlsdr-gain is unchanged

Has anything changed?

Your system was updated, but you gain already was in 42.1; if you like see change in gain you must select another value, i.e. “sudo piaware-config rtlsdr-gain 50”
